On a point in the lake Mossjön in the parish of Pelarne, there is a fortified manor house called Sverkers Udde (Sverker ´s Point). The manor was built entirely of wood, but it did have a substantial stone cellar. Here, food was stored. The manor, which belonged to the Mossebo estate, was built during the 14th century, but we do not know exactly when. Perhaps it was constructed by Sverker Haraldsson Stubbe in the 1330 ´s. Other members of the Stubbe family are known to have lived here. In the 1370 ´s, Mossebo was owned by Harald Karlsson Stubbe. It is likely that the manor was destroyed at the end of the 14th, or beginning of the 15th century, when Queen Margareta and Erik of Pommern were in power.
