There is a fortified manor house on an island in the lake Hjorten in the parish of Rumskulla. In the lake, there are three ring-formed barriers made of wooden poles. These have hindered access to the islet. The poles have been dated to the beginning of the 1370´s.
The name Garpön (garp = German) indicates that the manor was built either by a German aristocrat or by a German-friendly Swede, in any case by someone who was on the side of King Albrekt. Most likely, Queen Margareta has put an end to the manor and its owner at the end of the 14th century.
