The man who taught us to think

The man who taught us to think

Thomas Aquinas was a learned monk who lived in the 13th century. His thinking inspired ordinary people as well as the clergy. He was of the opinion that every person had to find a balance of faith and reason. God ´s existence, as well as your own had to be put to the test. It was important for everyone to find a task in life. Then God could give people the strength to live and work. Thomas wrote several books. The most well-known is "Summa Theologiae" - the sum of the teachings about God.

Thomas Aquinas is one of our great thinkers. Throughout history, many learned men have admired him. On his death-bed, Thomas called his work "This is just straw, dust, this is nothing". In spite of all the great things we human beings can accomplish, God will always be the greater.
