Early on, influential people were interested in the Stranda district. We know this, because as early as in the 13th century, strongholds were built at the mouth of the Alsterå River. There was a fortified manor house on an islet in Lyckefjärden which was called Källarholmen. It probably belonged to the Kråkerum estate.
