The Teutonic Order

During the 14th and early 15th centuries, the Teutonic Knights was a powerful military order. These knights conquered large regions along the Baltic coast and the Order also became a threat to the Nordic countries. For some time the Teutonic Knights controlled Gotland. The knights of the Order wore a white habit with a black cross on it.
