The garments of the Bocksten man are the only medieval clothes from Sweden which have been preserved. They have been dated to mid-14th century and were found in a peat bog at Bocksten in southern Halland, in 1936. Today, the garments can be seen at the Varberg Museum.
The Bocksten man was dressed in a knee-length frock, hose and a pointed hood which fitted tightly around his head, neck and shoulders. Over the frock, he wore a cloak which left his right arm free. Everything was made of wool. He wore shoes made of leather, with warm woollen patches sewn on for warmth.
