Through the vents, she can reach her belt. The clothes are made from colourful, imported cloth. Red and blue were the colours of the noblemen. The colour purple was made by first dying the fabric red, then blue. The red dye was made from a beetle from southern France and the blue from a plant called woad. Only young and unmarried women were allowed to wear their hair uncovered.
